A Scottish type blend of Latakia, Perique, Virginias, Turkish, and Burleys that boasts a heavier Perique component than normally found in a classic Scottish blend. The Burley provides some mild nuttiness and a bit of sweetness while the red Virginia provides tangy dark fruit with earthiness. The Cyprian Latakia compliments with a smoky and woody presence. Finally the Turkish/Orientals and Perique bring a spicy and peppery completion to this complex blend. The taste is full with a disarmingly calming presence. Despite its full and rich nature, Bayou Night is surprisingly cool on the palate.
