For over two centuries, the blenders and spinners of Samuel Gawith, Kendal, have been producing the famous Kendal Twists, and pipe smokers have been savouring the rich flavours and slow burning characteristics of the Black XX. The Black XX is an extra thick, unsliced twist. It undergoes a heat treatment that creates the black colour and produces less tar and nicotine than its counterpart, Brown No. 4.
